How does distribution work across different podcast directories?

On Ausha, we help you distribute on 22 podcast directories.

There are three different processes to get set up:

👉 1. Distribution in a few clicks: Spotify (see article), Deezer (see article), Amazon Music (see article), Podcast Addict (see article), Listen Notes (see article), Podcast Index (see article) and Podchaser (see article).

You can set up distribution on these apps in three clicks directly from your Ausha Distribution settings without having to create accounts on Spotify, Deezer, etc.

👉 2. Distribution after completing steps on the podcast directories: Apple Podcasts (see article), TuneIn (see article), Stitcher (see article), Player FM (see article), iHeartRADIO (see article), JioSaavn (see article), Pandora (see article) & Gaana (see article).

For these apps, we have prepared tutorials in the dedicated colored boxes to guide you step-by-step to distribute your show. You must complete these steps directly on the listening platforms.

👉 3. Automatic Distribution: Castbox, Pocket Casts, Castro, and Overcast.

These apps will automatically distribute your podcast without you having to do anything!

For Castbox, Pocket Casts, Castro, and Overcast, your podcast will be available within 1 month after your first episode appears on Apple Podcasts. These directories make a copy of the iTunes catalog, so your podcast must be distributed on Apple Podcasts for automatic distribution to work.

How do I set up my podcast’s distribution directly on Ausha?

You can set up your show’s distribution and find your listening links all on one handy page! 🥳

To configure your podcast’s distribution:

1. Verify that your podcast contains at least one Public, Published episode.

(If your podcast only contains planned or draft episodes, you cannot set up distribution. The RSS feed will appear empty to platforms as they can only detect public, published episodes).

2. Then head to the Settings tab.

3. Select Distribution in the left-side menu.

4. For each listening platform on which you wish to activate your podcast’s distribution, click Distribute.

5. After clicking Distribute, a new window will appear, asking: “Is your podcast already available on this platform?”. If your podcast has never been distributed on the platform, answer No.

Note: If your podcast is already distributed on this directories, head to this article to confirm that you have completed all the necessary steps to ensure a correct transfer from your previous hosting service to Ausha.

6. Depending on the platform, you can then confirm the distribution request directly from Ausha (Spotify, Deezer, Podcast Addict, Amazon Music, Listen Notes, Podcast Index, Podchaser) or you can dive into a tutorial that explains the required steps on the platform (Apple Podcasts, TuneIn, Stitcher, Player FM, iHeartRADIO, JioSaavn, Pandora, Gana).

Once you have completed the different distribution setup processes for your chosen directories, from then on your new episodes will automatically be uploaded to those apps.
