You already publish videos on YouTube and want to make them available as a podcast as well?
YouTube synchronization allows you to connect your channel to Ausha so your videos are automatically converted into audio episodes and distributed on podcast platforms, without any extra work on your side!
⚠️ This feature is designed to turn YouTube videos into an audio podcast.
If your goal is to publish an audio podcast hosted on Ausha as videos on YouTube, this is a different feature.
Check the article How to distribute my podcast on YouTube from Ausha.
1. Why should I synchronize my YouTube channel with Ausha and publish my videos as a podcast? 🎧
Synchronizing your YouTube channel with Ausha lets you reuse your existing videos in audio format, without changing how you create content.
In concrete terms, this allows you to:
• automatically turn your YouTube videos into podcast episodes
• make your content available on podcast platforms
• reach listeners who prefer audio over video
🚀 Once the synchronization is set up (see part 2.), every new video published on your YouTube channel is automatically converted into an audio episode on Ausha and distributed on podcast platforms.
2. 🔗 How do I synchronize my YouTube channel with Ausha?
To synchronize a YouTube channel, you must create a new podcast on Ausha.
The connection with YouTube is established during this setup, following the steps below.
1️⃣ Step 1: create a new podcast on Ausha to connect your YouTube channel
To connect your YouTube channel to Ausha, start by creating a new podcast.
When creating your podcast on Ausha:
• select I already have a YouTube channel
• paste your YouTube channel URL
• review the detected channel
• confirm the channel import
This step links your YouTube channel to Ausha so your videos can be automatically converted into podcast episodes.
⚠️ If you are currently on the Ausha FREE plan, only the 3 most recent videos from your YouTube channel can be synchronized.
To synchronize all content available on your YouTube channel, you will need to upgrade to one of our paid hosting plans (Launch, Boost, or Supersonic – see plan details).
2️⃣ Step 2: optimize the audio version of your podcast
When your podcast is created, Ausha automatically uses the information from your YouTube channel to create the audio version of your podcast.
🧭 To edit the podcast information used on podcast platforms:
• go to Settings
• open the Information section
• update your podcast name, description, or cover artwork
Your podcast audio information can be updated at any time from Ausha ✅
💡 Your YouTube channel information and your podcast information on Ausha are managed separately.
If you update your title, description, or image in YouTube Studio, you must also apply those changes in Ausha for them to appear correctly on podcast platforms.
3️⃣ Step 3: enable distribution on podcast platforms
Once your podcast is created on Ausha, you must enable distribution to podcast platforms.
If you skip this step, your podcast will only be available on Ausha and will not appear on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or other listening apps.
To enable distribution:
• go to Settings
• open the Distribution section
• select the platforms where you want your podcast to be available
👉 Check the article How to distribute my podcast on listening platforms for step-by-step instructions.
3. 🎙️ How do I manage the publication of each audio episode?
Once the synchronization is active, every new video published on your YouTube channel is automatically converted into an audio episode on Ausha, then distributed on podcast platforms.
1️⃣ Edit an episode’s audio version
You can edit the information of an audio episode generated from a YouTube video.
To edit an audio episode:
• go to the Episodes tab
• open the episode
• update the title, description, or episode artwork
• save your changes
💡 If you update a video’s title or description directly on YouTube, those changes are not automatically applied to the audio version.
To reflect them on podcast platforms, you must update the episode in Ausha.
👉 Check the article How to edit an episode that’s already live to learn more.
2️⃣ Make an episode unavailable in audio
If a video is not suitable for audio listening, you can make the corresponding episode unavailable as a podcast.
To do this:
• go to the Episodes tab
• open the episode
• delete the audio episode or set it to private
💡 The episode becomes unavailable immediately on Ausha.
It will then be removed from podcast platforms in the following hours, depending on each platform’s update timing.
