What is Live Search, and how does it help in the PSO Control Panel?
Live Search lets you view, in real time, the ranking of podcasts in Apple Podcasts and Spotify search results for any keywords you choose. 🎯
It helps you identify the top-ranked podcasts for each keyword, take inspiration from their strategies, and compare their ranking to your own if your podcast appears for that keyword.
Here’s what you’ll discover for each keyword 👇
The complete ranking: See which podcasts occupy the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd positions, all the way up to the 100th rank. 🥇🥈🥉
Your exact position: Find out if your podcast ranks for this keyword on the selected listening platform (Apple Podcasts or Spotify) and content type (Podcast or Episode). Check its real-time position. 📊
You’ll also access key indicators to evaluate the relevance of each keyword 👇
Number of results: The total number of podcasts appearing in the results based on your filters (Apple or Spotify / Podcast or Episode).
Search volume: A score between 5 and 100, measuring the keyword’s popularity (how often it’s searched by listeners).
Difficulty score: A score between 0 and 100, evaluating how competitive the keyword is.
💡 How can Live Search help refine my keyword strategy?
With Ausha’s PSO Control Panel (Visibility tab), you can track keywords and monitor your podcast’s visibility in search results over time.
By using Live Search’s relevance indicators, you can assess in real time:
Competition: Are many other podcasts ranking for this keyword?
Popularity: Is this keyword frequently searched by listeners?
This allows you to:
How do I access Live Search and perform a keyword search?
🧭 To access this feature, go to the Referencing > Live Search tab in your Ausha dashboard.
From there, you can perform a real-time keyword search by following these steps:
1️⃣ Enter your keyword in the search bar ⌨️
It can be a single word or a phrase, whether or not you already track it in your PSO Control Panel (Referencing tab).
2️⃣ Select the platform you want to search: Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
🤓 You cannot perform a simultaneous search for both platforms. Each platform has distinct audiences, algorithms, and rankings, making comparisons impossible.
3️⃣ Choose the type of content for which you want to see results.
Podcasts (entire shows).
Episodes (specific content).
🍏 On Apple Podcasts, you can also choose the Most Popular category, which combines podcasts and episodes.
4️⃣ Select the country for which you want to search.
5️⃣ Analyze the results for each keyword.
Review the relevance indicators for the keyword (see Part 1 of this article for more details) and see the full ranking of results, listed from 1st to 100th (maximum).
For each result, you can click the arrow ↗️ to access the podcast’s direct link. This will allow you to analyze your competitors in detail!
💡 How can Live Search help me gain inspiration from competitors and identify best practices?
Through Live Search, you can click on links to ranked podcasts to examine in detail:
How descriptions are optimized
Their publishing frequency
What their podcast covers look like
This will help you adopt best practices to stand out from competitors and improve your podcast’s visibility! 💪
