🧭 1. What is the Keyword Tracking tab for?

Inside the PSO tab of your Ausha interface, you'll find the tools of the PSO Control Panel, designed to help you track your podcast’s visibility in search results on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

The (Keyword) Tracking module gives you a full list of all the keywords you're currently monitoring in your PSO.

It allows you to track how your podcast ranks on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, for each keyword and in the country of your choice.

You’ll also find indicators for each keyword, such as:

  • Search Volume, which helps you estimate how popular a keyword is among listeners

  • Difficulty Score, which helps you measure how competitive the keyword is (i.e., how many podcasts are already ranking well on it)

⚙️ 2. How do I use the Keyword Tracking module in the PSO tab?

🎯 Filter by platform and country (store)

At the top of the page, you can filter your results by:
listening platform (Apple Podcasts or Spotify)
country

⚠️ By default, when you open the Keyword Tracking, your results will show your rankings on Apple Podcasts in the first country you've selected in your settings.

👉 Don’t forget to also explore your rankings on Spotify and in other regions, as your podcast’s visibility can vary significantly depending on the keyword, platform, or country.

📊 Understanding the indicators

Ranking: Shows your podcast’s current position for a specific keyword, based on the platform and country selected.

Change: Displays whether your ranking has gone up, down, or stayed the same compared to the previous week.

Search Volume: Measures how often the keyword is searched by listeners. A high volume (displayed in green) means there’s strong audience interest.

Difficulty Score: Estimates how hard it is to rank for this keyword. A lower score (in green) means it’s easier to get a top spot.

Metadata: Tells you how many times the keyword appears in your podcast’s metadata: show name, show description, episode titles, and episode descriptions.

💡 How to use the Metadata column to improve your keyword performance?

The Metadata column helps you immediately identify which keywords are underused in your content.

👉 The higher the number shown in the Metadata column for a keyword, the better your chances of ranking well on it across Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

👉 If a keyword is barely or not at all present in your Metadata column, that means you need to rework your content to include it — otherwise, your podcast might not show up in search results.

🎯 For your priority keywords:
– Try to get the highest possible score in the Metadata column.
– Make sure the keyword is present in these key areas:

  • your show title

  • your main show description

  • your episode titles

  • and your episode descriptions

🖱️ Hover over the Metadata column cell to see exactly where the keyword appears — whether it's in the show name, description, or episode content.

🧩 3. How should I prioritize keywords in my PSO strategy?

💡 Wondering where to start and which keywords to focus on first? Here's our 3-step method to build a strong, structured PSO strategy.

🚀 Step 1: Start with quick wins

👉 Target green / green keywords:

  • High search volume

  • Low difficulty score

These keywords offer the best return: they’re highly searched but not too competitive. Perfect for boosting visibility quickly and building a solid foundation.

🎯 Step 2: Work on high-potential keywords

👉 Target green / orange keywords:

  • High search volume

  • High difficulty score

These keywords are more competitive — many podcasts are trying to rank on them. They require more effort and time but represent a valuable opportunity for broader audience reach.

🔎 Step 3: Don’t ignore niche keywords

👉 Target orange / green or orange / orange keywords:

  • Lower search volume

  • Low or medium difficulty score

These are ideal for reaching a specific and highly engaged audience. While they may attract fewer people, the listeners are usually better qualified and more aligned with your podcast’s theme.
