What is Visibility Score?

πŸ“š The visibility score measures your podcast's current (same day) visibility on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

This score takes into account both your podcast's position on Apple Podcasts and Spotify for each of your chosen keywords, and a CTR (Click-Through Rate) specifically calculated by Ausha for each position. πŸ“Š

In other words, this score evaluates how visible and clickable your podcast is when a listener searches for specific keywords.

🧭 You can find your podcast's Visibility Score within the PSO Control Panel of your Ausha interface, from the Visibility > Overview tab.

How is Visibility Score Calculated?

πŸ“ˆ Your podcast's Visibility Score is a score ranging from 0 to 100.

To calculate this score, we combine:

  • The current position of your podcast in the search results for each of your selected keywords.

  • Click-Through Rate (CTR) calculated by Ausha for your podcast in relation to the position of each of your keywords!

πŸ’‘ Note that this click-through rate is weighted by the position of your podcast: the higher your podcast appears in the search results, the more points the CTR will contribute to the overall calculation of the visibility score! 🎰

πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ¨ Let's take an example:

Consider two podcasts, each wanting to know their visibility score for 2 keywords.

➑️ Podcast A has two keywords for which it appears in positions 1 and 100, respectively.

➑️ Podcast B has two keywords for which it appears in position 50 each.

At first glance, one might think that the visibility score of these two podcasts is similar; in reality, Podcast A will have a much higher visibility score. πŸ‘€

Certainly, the average position of the two podcasts will be extremely close (50.5 for Podcast A (100+1)/2 and 50 for Podcast B (50+50)/2).

However, the click-through rate (CTR) will be much more in favor of Podcast A because a click in position 1 will earn more points than a click in position 50 or 100.

The visibility score of Podcast A will, therefore, be higher even though both podcasts have a similar average position because Podcast A's presence in the first position for a keyword will have a major impact on its visibility! πŸ”Ž

How to Interpret this Score to Measure Podcast Visibility?

Visibility Score ranges from 0 to 100. πŸ“

🟠 When the score is closer to 0: your podcast is currently not very visible in search results and is clicked less for your keywords.
🟒 When the score is closer to 100: your podcast is currently highly visible in search results and receives a large number of clicks.

Note that, as with any data related to your audience, the most important thing is to analyze the evolution of this score over time. 🧘

πŸ’ͺ Visibility Score is primarily a measurement tool to analyze the effectiveness of all the actions you implement on your podcast's metadata (Title, descriptions, tags, etc.) to make it more discoverable at any given moment. πŸ₯³
