💡 Podcast Search Optimization (PSO) is a discipline created by Ausha to improve the visibility of your podcast in search results on listening platforms.
The goal? Identify your main competitors and analyze their content strategy to refine your own PSO and improve your podcast’s ranking in the Apple Podcasts and Spotify charts. 🎧

💡 How can PSO Competitors help me optimize my podcast?
Beyond identifying your top 10 competitors for each keyword where you want to position your podcast, it is essential to analyze their practices and isolate winning strategies to apply to your own show.
👉 Here’s what we recommend focusing on:
Frequency of publication: Do the top podcasts release episodes more regularly?
Podcast cover art: Does their visual attract attention and appear more impactful?
Keyword integration in the show’s title and description: Check how the top podcasts incorporate the keyword you want to rank for and how often they do it.
Keyword integration in the title and description of each episode: Also observe how these same podcasts use keywords in their episode metadata.
Style and tone: Do some top podcasts stand out with a unique voice or approach?
Topics covered: Identify terms or related topics to your keywords that could be relevant for future episodes.
Reviews and ratings: Have the top podcasts received many comments? Recently?
Recurring guests or partnerships: Spot collaborations that could also benefit your podcast.
How to use the Competitors tab in my PSO Control Panel?
🧭 To access this feature, go to the PSO > Competitors tab in your Ausha interface.
You can then refine your search to identify the main competitors of your podcast for your keywords. Follow these steps 👇
1️⃣ Choose the platform where you want to search: Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
🤓 You cannot search on Apple and Spotify simultaneously. These platforms have different audiences, algorithms, and rankings, making comparisons impossible.
2️⃣ Select the type of content you want to analyze in the results:
Shows (podcasts as a whole).
Episodes (specific content).
🍏 On Apple Podcasts, you can also choose the Most Popular category, which includes a mix of shows and episodes.
3️⃣ Select the country where you want to conduct your search.
4️⃣ Analyze the results for each of your keywords:
Your podcast’s ranking: Find out your podcast’s position in the search results for this keyword on the selected platform and content type.
Competitors: Discover the podcasts that appear in the top 10 search results.
Click on a podcast’s cover art to open its page on the selected platform and analyze it in detail (see our recommendations in Part 1 of this article). ↗️
⚠️ Want to know your top 10 competitors for a keyword, but it doesn’t appear in the list?
