How does automatic distribution on Castro work?
Some platforms offer automatic distribution, meaning no action is required on your part. This is the case for listening platforms such as Pocket Casts, Castbox, Overcast, and the platform we’re focusing on here: Castro!
Here are the required conditions for Castro (and other automatic platforms) to distribute your podcast:
👉 Your podcast must contain at least one publicly published episode.
If your show only contains scheduled or draft episodes, distribution will not work on any platform, whether Castro or another listening platform. Having at least one Public episode is essential for Castro to automatically detect your podcast.

👉 Your podcast must already be distributed on Apple Podcasts.
Castro is an automatic listening platform that relies on the Apple Podcasts catalog. For your show to appear on Castro, it must first be available on Apple Podcasts.

How long does it take for my podcast to appear on Castro?
Distribution on Castro is fully automated. However, like all automatic platforms, it is not instant. ⏳
You will need to wait a few days to a few weeks after your first episode is available on Apple Podcasts for your show to be indexed on Castro.
As long as your podcast is not yet distributed on Apple Podcasts, the Castro section will display the following message:
“Distribute your show on Apple Podcasts for it to be available on this platform.”
Once your show is distributed on Apple Podcasts, and while waiting for Castro to index your podcast and for the listening link to appear in your Ausha distribution settings, the message “Pending distribution…” will be displayed.
Finally, once your podcast is available on Castro, the link to your show page on the platform will automatically appear in your Ausha distribution settings:
Important: there is currently no way to manually submit your podcast to Castro. As a result, it is not possible to speed up the automatic distribution process. You will need to wait for Castro to discover your podcast through the Apple Podcasts catalog.
💡 Even after your podcast becomes available on Castro, the Castro listening link may not appear immediately in your Ausha settings, and the status “Pending distribution” may still be displayed.
In this case, please wait a few more days for the automatic retrieval of your Castro link to take place and appear in your Ausha dashboard.
