Starting from the Boost plan (see pricing page), Ausha lets you automatically distribute your episodes on YouTube and add them to a YouTube Podcast Playlist with every publication.

📚 This article focuses on managing YouTube Podcast Playlists. To connect your YouTube channel to Ausha and enable episode distribution, check out this article first: How do I distribute my podcast on YouTube from Ausha?

Why add your episodes to a YouTube Podcast Playlist?

YouTube Podcast Playlists are a playlist format specifically tied to YouTube's podcast tools. Linking your episodes to one comes with two key benefits:

🎵 Your podcast gets listed on YouTube Music For a dedicated page for your podcast to appear automatically on YouTube Music, your episodes need to be linked to a Podcast Playlist on your YouTube channel.

📺 Your podcast gets recognized as a podcast by YouTube By linking your episodes to a Podcast Playlist, YouTube identifies your content as a podcast. Your episodes then become accessible from YouTube's Podcasts tab, across desktop, mobile, and TV.

How do I create a YouTube Podcast Playlist from my distribution settings on Ausha?

☑️ Before you start, make sure your YouTube account is verified. Head to youtube.com/verify if you haven't done so yet.

Here's how to create a YouTube Podcast Playlist without having to log into YouTube Studio:

1️⃣ In the main menu, click Settings, then Distribution.

2️⃣ In the YouTube section:

  • If your channel isn't connected to Ausha yet, click Distribute to get started.

  • If your channel is already connected, click the settings icon ⚙️ to access your YouTube distribution settings.

3️⃣ Under YouTube Podcast Playlist, click Create a YouTube Podcast Playlist.

4️⃣ Fill in your playlist details:

  • Thumbnail (JPG or PNG, square 1:1 ratio, 400 x 400 px min., 1,080 x 1,080 px recommended, 2 MB max.)

  • Title (150 characters max.)

  • Description (5,000 characters max.)

  • Visibility (Public by default)

5️⃣ Click Create.

🎉 Your Podcast Playlist is now live on your YouTube channel!

💡 Good to know: once created from Ausha, your Podcast Playlist can no longer be edited from Ausha. Any changes will need to be made directly in YouTube Studio.

How do I select a YouTube Podcast Playlist so that my upcoming episodes published from Ausha are automatically added to it?

Once your Podcast Playlist is created, or if you already have one on your channel, select it in your Ausha YouTube settings so that all upcoming episodes are automatically added to it upon publication.

⚠️ Episodes you've already published will not be added to the Podcast Playlist automatically. To include them, you'll need to add them manually from YouTube Studio.

Here's how to select a YouTube Podcast Playlist from your distribution settings on Ausha:

1️⃣ In the main menu, click Settings, then Distribution.

2️⃣ Click the settings icon ⚙️ in the YouTube section.

3️⃣ In the YouTube Podcast Playlist dropdown, select the playlist you want. Any existing Podcast Playlists on your YouTube channel will appear automatically in the list.

4️⃣ Click Save changes.

👉 From that point on, every episode you distribute on YouTube will automatically be added to that Podcast Playlist upon publication.

💡 Starting a new season? Shifting your podcast's focus slightly?
Keep distributing your episodes to the same YouTube Podcast Playlist to ensure your entire show stays in one place across YouTube's podcast tools!

It is strongly recommended to keep all episodes of the same podcast in a single Podcast Playlist.

👉 Centralization is key. Your podcast needs to be in one Podcast Playlist to be properly recognized in YouTube's Podcasts tab and on YouTube Music.

👉 Switching Podcast Playlists means starting from scratch. Any ranking and visibility you've built up won't carry over if you switch.
