Ausha is now IAB 2.2 certified: what’s new?
Great news — Ausha is now officially certified IAB 2.2! 🎉
We’ve been following the IAB 2.1 standard since 2022, and as of June 2025, we’ve upgraded to IAB 2.2 compliance.
What is IAB?
IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) is an international association that defines global standards for digital advertising and audience measurement.
In podcasting, it provides a clear set of rules for what counts as a valid listening. This helps ensure reliable, comparable stats across the industry.
Why does it matter?
IAB 2.2 is the latest version of the standard, adopted by most major podcast hosting platforms and ad networks. It reinforces quality rules, making sure stats are consistent, trustworthy, and aligned with industry expectations.
Ausha has been IAB 2.1 compliant since 2022, and switching to IAB 2.2 doesn’t change the way listens are counted — it simply means we’ve reinforced our monitoring to fully match the new requirements.
How is a listen counted on Ausha?
There is no change in methodology:
We already count one listen only when all of the following conditions are met:
⏱ At least 60 seconds of the episode have been downloaded
🧠 User Agent is valid
🌍 IP address is considered human traffic
📆 Only one listen per user, per episode, per 24 hours
These rules remain exactly the same with IAB 2.2.
So what’s new, really?
This update mainly reflects a stronger alignment with the latest IAB audit requirements, ensuring that:
✅ We’re up to date with the global standard
✅ Your stats stay eligible for advertisers and industry benchmarks
✅ You don’t need to do anything — everything works as before
Will my stats change?
No. Since Ausha has already applied the core IAB 2.2 criteria for a while, you won’t see any difference in your numbers.
If anything, this official certification confirms that your audience metrics are reliable, standardized, and ready for any professional use.
