Follow the steps below to set up the integration in just a few minutes. π
π οΈ 1. Create your Matomo account
Go to matomo.org and create your account. You can choose either the cloud version (hosted by Matomo) or the self-hosted version on your own server.
π 2. Add your Ausha Website and Smartlink to Matomo
To allow Matomo to properly track your Ausha traffic:
In Matomo, go to Websites β Manage.
Click the edit icon for the existing measurable.
In the URLs field, add the URLs of your Ausha Website and your Smartlink (one per line).
Save your changes. β
π 3. Retrieve your Site URL and Site ID
In Matomo:
Click the βοΈ gear icon in the top-right corner of the page.
In the left-hand menu, go to Websites β Tracking Code.
Locate:
Your server URL in a line similar to:
var u="https://your-instance.matomo.cloud/";
π Example to copy: https://your-instance.matomo.cloud/Your Site ID in a line similar to:
_paq.push(['setSiteId', '4']);π Example to copy: 4
π‘ Make sure to keep both pieces of information: the full server URL (including the trailing /) and your Site ID. You will need them to connect Matomo to Ausha.
π 4. Connect Matomo to Ausha
In your Ausha dashboard:
Go to Communication β Trackers
Scroll down to the Matomo Analytics section
Fill in:
Website ID β the Site ID retrieved from Matomo (example:
4)Server URL β the URL retrieved from Matomo (example:
https://your-instance.matomo.cloud/)
Click Save β

Perform a test visit on your Ausha Website or Smartlink, then check your Matomo dashboard a few minutes later to confirm that the visit has been recorded. π

Does Matomo display data in real time?
Matomo provides near real-time analytics. However, it may take a few minutes for the first visits to appear after the configuration is completed.
Do I need a specific Ausha plan?
To connect Matomo to Ausha, your podcast must be hosted on Ausha. All Ausha plans that include hosting support this integration.
Is Matomo GDPR-compliant?
Yes! One of Matomo's main advantages is its native GDPR compliance. Your data remains on your own Matomo instance and is not shared with third parties.
Can I use Matomo alongside other tracking tools?
